CIC’s Mark at the Science, Technology, and Innovation Workshop – Digital Transformation in the Building Materials Industry
CIC delivered an orientation presentation on the LCA-EPD toolset for building materials enterprises at a scientific workshop recently held on January 17, 2026.
Recently, the Vietnam Building Materials Association (VABM) successfully organized a scientific workshop themed “Science and Technology, Innovation, and Digital Transformation in the Building Materials Industry.” The event gathered leading experts, representatives from the Ministry of Construction, and pioneering enterprises to discuss modern technological solutions and the roadmap for modernizing the materials industry in the digital era.

In the role of sponsor and professional support unit, Mr. Tran Ngoc Quynh – Director of the Sustainable Development Consulting and Technical Technology Solutions Center under CIC Technology and Consulting Joint Stock Company – participated with a presentation titled: “Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) and Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) – the foundation towards a green building materials industry.” The representative of CIC emphasized that the application of in-depth technical solutions (LCA-EPD) is the key for businesses to enhance competitiveness and transparentize the environmental impact of products on the world map.
LCA and EPD: Core tools for transparency and optimization
The representative of CIC clarified the roles of LCA-EPD, modern measurement toolsets, in innovating production processes:

Life Cycle Assessment (LCA): This is a scientific method that helps businesses statistically and comprehensively analyze environmental impacts from raw material extraction and production to the end of the product life cycle. Through LCA data, businesses can identify “hotspots” to improve technology and optimize resources.

Environmental Product Declaration (EPD): Results from LCA will be verified and publicly declared through EPD profiles according to international standards (ISO 14025, EN 15804). EPD acts as a “green passport,” helping Vietnamese products meet the strict requirements of international markets and enhance brand reputation.
